Policies, Fees, and Insurance

Policies

Appointments generally last 50 minutes with the remaining 10 minutes of the hour used for record keeping. While most sessions take place in the office, telephone-based sessions can be provided in emergencies.

Every attempt is made to begin each session on time, but occasionally unforeseen circumstances can prevent a session from beginning on-time. On rare occasions Dr. O'Hara may be as much as 15 minutes late. If she is the cause of a late start, you will receive a full-length session- either at that time, or another time if your schedule does not permit (or the fee will be reduced proportionately). If you are late, Dr. O'Hara will wait 15 minutes. After that, she may leave the office or attend to other business.

As scheduling an appointment involves the reservation of time specifically for you, it is important to provide at least 24 hours notice should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Otherwise, a fee will be charged for missed sessions and due at the time of your next appointment.

Professional Fees

Payment for services is due prior to leaving the office after each session, in the form of cash or check. If it is more convenient, you may pay for several sessions in advance.

Insurance

While Dr. O'Hara does not work directly with insurance, some clients have found that they can be reimbursed for a portion of their therapy fee by their insurance company. It is strongly recommended that you call your insurance company to find out if this is an option for you. Insurance plans vary, and it cannot be assumed that your insurance company will reimburse you.
